SR Vishwanath notice against Srinivas Gowda

The motion is yet to be accepted by the Speaker.

Bengaluru: Yelahanka BJP MLA S.R. Vishwanath on Friday served a breach of privilege notice on Kolar Congress MLA Srinivas Gowda, hours after Mr Gowda while participating in a debate on the confidence motion, charged that Mr Vishwanath had come to his house to give him Rs 5 crore.

In his privilege notice, Mr Vishwanath said Mr Gowda had told the media that BJP leaders came to his house and kept Rs 5 crore when he was in the bathroom. His statement was referred to the Anti-Corruption Bureau(ACB) for further investigation and on March 19, he appeared before the ACB officials and said that what appeared in the media was not true.

"However, Mr Gowda while participating in the debate in the House, has made serious allegations against me without any evidence. This is a clear case of breach of privilege and therefore, I would like to move a privilege motion," he said.

The motion is yet to be accepted by the Speaker.
