Telangana Rashtra Samiti to enrol new members from June 27

Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) on Wednesday decided to launch the party’s membership drive from June 27 in the state and close the drive by the end of July.

The party state executive, which met here at Telangana Bhavan under the leadership of the party chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, sanctioned Rs 19.20 crore party fund to construct party offices in all 32 district headquarters and decided to lay the foundation for the buildings on June 24 and complete the construction before the Dasara festival.

Mr Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, general secretary of the TRS, in his media briefing about the decision of the executive, said that the committee congratulated Mr Rao for completing the construction of the Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Project in a record time.

He said that the extensive meeting of the executive including the MLAs and MLCs of the party would be held on June 27 at the party office and the party chief would launch the membership drive on the day.

He said that the Telangana state government decided to invite a limited number of guests for the inaugural function of the Kaleswaram Project as the venue was located in the deep forest and roads were slushy.
