O Panneerselvam to take part in finance minister\'s conference
Chennai: TN finance minister O. Panneerselvam will go to Delhi to attend state finance ministers meeting to stress Tamil Nadu’s financial needs. The deputy CM and a team of officials will leave for Delhi on Thursday.
The state finance ministers’ meeting is being held on Thursday. Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has convened the meeting to finalise the allocation of funds to the States. The central Budget will be presented on July 5 in parliament by the Union finance minister.
O. Panneerselvam will stress in the meeting about the financial needs of the state and additional fund allotment for the various schemes and fund to meet the water scarcity in TN. Sources said that OPS will also discuss the political situation in Tamil Nadu with Prime Minister Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah.
