Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu's tweet on Karnataka draws flak
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu might have not expected the backlash from Twitter users to his tweets welcoming the Supreme Court order on Friday on the Karnataka floor test and BJP leader BS Yedyurappa’s resignation on Saturday.
The tweet on the Karnataka developments by Mr Naidu has garnered more replies than his other tweets in the last two days. Twitter users from Andhra Pradesh raised the issues related to his infamous coup against his father-in-law, the late N.T. Rama Rao, way back in 1995 and the induction of YSRC MLAs in large numbers into the TD.
Mr Naidu on Friday tweeted “We respect & welcome the verdict of Hon'ble Supreme Court. Governor should have followed the Democratic conventions in appointing protem speaker. We expect that the spirit of Supreme Court judgement will be protected (sic).”
On Saturday, he tweeted “Resignation of BS Yeddyurappa as Karnataka's CM is a true victory for democracy. Entire nation is happy with the current turn of events. As a Chief Minister and a firm believer of democracy, I am expressing my happiness (sic).”
A Twitter user responded to Naidu’s Friday tweet saying “Saruuu..... Democratic ??? your party killed it few years back by giving ministers post to YCP MLAs ...Please don't talk about democracy... respected CM sir ... (sic)”
To Saturday’s tweet a Twitter user said, ‘Sir please... you could hv avoided this. U r forcing us to remember the NTR days and what you did to take control of TDP! @BSYBJP ji after giving a try, gracefully stepped down. #KarnatakaFloorTest #Karnataka @BJP4Karnataka @rammadhavbjp (sic)”
Another tweet said, “Things happening in Karnataka are shame to democracy.... How come someone like you who has done same in past and doing same in present sermonize ? Is purchasing MLAs of YSRC and giving them ministries in AP a social work ?... #HotelViceroy inspired many .. Tamilnadu.. Bangalore Novotel .. Goa .. All Credits to #HotelViceroy guru @ncbn (sic)”
