Khammam: Pandemonium broke out at the Zilla Parishad general body meeting on Friday, as members of the Opposition parties criticised the chairperson for not including items related to education and agriculture in the agenda.
As soon as the meeting commenced, Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy demanded the handcuffing of farmers be discussed at the meeting, to instil confidence among the community.
“The farmers are in distress due to the lack of remunerative prices for chilli and paddy on one side, and the arrest and handcuffing of chilli farmers on the other side. It is time to discuss the matter to give them a morale boost,” he said.
