Amit Shah: BJP will soon dethrone Congress

He remarked that only the BJP can replace the Congress in Karnataka, adding that the JD(S) role in the elections was 'negligible.'

Bengaluru: Expressing confidence that the BJP would be able to dethrone the ruling Congress in the coming Assembly elections, party national president Amit Shah said his party did not have to present an account to AICC President Rahul Gandhi about release of central funds to Karnataka.

The BJP and the Congress have been sparring over the release of funds with the saffron party claiming that funds have been misutilised by the Congress government here. Interacting with professionals and businessmen's here on Thursday, Mr Shah said, "We will give an account to the people of Karnataka. We will put an end to five years of misrule of the Congress."

He remarked that only the BJP can replace the Congress in Karnataka, adding that the JD(S) role in the elections was 'negligible.' "Rahul Gandhi has no right to question the BJP and seek accounts because in the past five years, he allowed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to sleep", Shah criticized.

He wondered what the CM had done for the infrastructure development of Bengaluru city and added that Mr Siddaramaiah had destroyed the reputation of the IT City with his misrule. He also spoke about the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past four years and requested Bengaluru voters to give a chance to the BJP's CM candidate B.S. Yeddyurappa to provide better governance in the state.
