Poll materials for Congress start arriving
Hyderabad: A lorry carrying materials for the Lok Sabha elections reached Gandhi Bhavan, the Telangana Congress headquarters, here on Tuesday. The high command is sending four lorryloads of election material.
The materials include caps, party flags, stickers and scarves. TPCC leaders said three more lorries will come with the election material soon.
AICC general secretary and TS Congress incharge R.C. Khuntia constituted a committee after consultations with TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and others to oversee the logistics of election management and campaign.
The committee is headed by TPCC working president Jetti Kusuma Kumar and will distribute the election material to candidates.
In the past the high command used to provide three to four vehicles for the campaign, which have to be returned to the party. But some leaders retained some vehicles. The high command has now stopped the practice. In the past, Congress leaders used to fight for party tickets mainly keeping in view the vehicles and party election funds.
