Kerala Assembly elections: Congress and Muslim League patch up on Kondotty
Malappuram: The Congress and the Muslim League in Kondotty constituency in Malappuram have decided to set aside their differences temporarily for the elections.
A meeting convened by district leaders decided to work unitedly for the UDF victory in the constituency. There has been a serious rift between the two parties here for the past few months, especially after the local body elections.
“Both have agreed to face the elections together. There are no differences right now. The issues that caused the rift will be settled after the Assembly poll,” said Mr K.N.A. Khader, Muslim League district general secretary.
DCC president E. Muhammed Kunhi, Mr K. Muhammedunni Haji MLA, KPCC members P.P. Moosa and K. Abdullakutty were also present at the meeting which decided to organise the UDF convention in the constituency on March 27.
Meanwhile, a section of Congress leaders, including KPCC members, questioned the DCC president about not inviting all the party leaders to the meet.
“We have called a convention on March 24 of the party workers and will decide the future course of action,” said Mr K.P.S. Abid Thangal, district president, Karshaka Congress.
