DMK-Congress seat-sharing talks in two days
Chennai: Denying reports that the Congress has not confirmed ties with the DMK, TNCC president E.V.K.S. Elangovan on Saturday said the seat sharing negotiations between the two parties would begin in one or two days.
Speaking to reporters at the party’s state headquarters here, the Congress leader said senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and DMK president M. Karunanidhi had already confirmed electoral ties between the two parties.
The Congress high command will form a committee to hold seat sharing talks with the DMK in one or two days, he said and added that the negotiations would begin immediately. He denied that Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi refused to attend the Trichy conference of DMK’s parent body, the Dravidar Kazhagam, as the alliance between the DMK and Congress had not been confirmed.
