VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam MLC Paruchuri Ashok Babu on Thursday accused YSR Congress of indulging in cheap politics by spreading misinformation on social media that cheques given by TD national president Nara Chandrababu to families of those who died in the Kandukur incident have bounced.
Describing it as malicious propaganda, Ashok Babu made it clear that the cheques given by Telugu Desam have been cleared and money has been deposited in bank accounts of the affected families.
The MLC claimed that TD has done maximum justice by extending ₹30 lakh to each affected family in Kandukur, an amount that no party in the country has provided as financial assistance to anyone.
Ashok Babu counter-attacked saying Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy did not give even a single rupee to families of 17 persons who had died during Jagan’s Odarpu Yatra.
TD SC Cell president M.S. Raju charged that though 40 persons had sustained grievous injuries in a wall collapse at Mandapeta while Jagan Mohan Reddy was addressing a meeting. But the latter did not even meet the affected family members.
