Land-grabbers got TRS ticket: Cong Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy

The Congress Malkajgiri MP said he had ensured repairs to nalas to prevent flooding in Bhandari layout after the last floods.

Hyderabad: Congress Malkajgiri MP A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday alleged that the TRS had issued tickets for the municipal elections to “land-grabbers as well as individuals accused in murder cases.” Campaigning in the Quthbullapur municipality, Mr Revanth Reddy said the TRS government had neglected development in the civic body limits “but is willing to go to any extent to win these elections.” “TRS leaders sold tickets by conducting auctions. Minister Ch Malla Reddy sold each ticket for `1.5 crore,” Mr Reddy alleged.

The Congress Malkajgiri MP said he had ensured repairs to nalas to prevent flooding in Bhandari layout after the last floods. “I also took steps to solve the drinking water supply shortage in the municipality. I will get funds directly from New Delhi. But to make proper use of these funds, people should elect Congress candidates,” Mr Reddy said. He added that he would stand by Congress candidates and would not tolerate any attacks on them by anyone and would respond to any such actions.

Mr Reddy said it was the Congress government that built homes for the poor under the Rajiv Gruha Kalpa scheme. CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao had said he would not ask for votes if his government cannot give houses to the poor and ensure drinking water supply, he recalled. “The TRS government failed on both fronts but he is now asking for votes,” the Congress MP said.
