Revanth to Discuss Congress LS Plans, Seeks PM's Time for Funds

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has sought an appointment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday to seek funds and pending projects for Telangana state. The PMO’s confirmation is awaited.

This will be Revanth Reddy's second visit to Delhi after he assumed office as Chief Minister on December 7. He visited Delhi on December 8 to finalise portfolios for the 11 ministers inducted into his Cabinet.

Revanth Reddy will meet AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, top Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, AICC general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal and others. The CM is likely to discuss preparations for upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

He is likely to discuss the appointment of party leaders to key positions in various state-run corporations and boards.

In the TPCC political affairs committee (PAC) held at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Revanth Reddy promised to fill nominated posts within a month upon the high command’s approval.

Besides there are two vacancies in the Legislative Council under the Governor's quota. Four more Council seats fell vacant with the resignation of Kadiam Srihari, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Kasireddy Narayan Reddy and Padi Kaushik Reddy following their election as MLAs.

Of them, Srihari and Kaushik Reddy were nominated under MLAs' quota while Rajeshwar Reddy and Narayan Reddy won in Graduate MLC and local bodies MLC elections.

The Congress can nominate two MLCs under the Governor's quota and one under the MLAs' quota. The remaining seat under MLAs quota would go to the BRS as it has the numbers to win this seat with 39 legislators. The party has to field candidates for Graduate MLC and local bodies MLC bypolls.

There are also six vacancies in his cabinet and Revanth Reddy is expected to bring this issue to the notice of the high command. He will return later in the day to attend the Legislative Assembly session resuming from Wednesday.
