Andhra Pradesh endowments minister responds to post of differently-abled girl
VIJAYAWADA: A differently-abled girl posted her plight on social media about encroachment of her family land. Following this, endowment minister Velampalli Srinivas Rao directed the district collector to protect the family’s land from encroachment.
K. Mounika Satya, living in One Town of Vijayawada posted a video about the land encroachment. She appealed to Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and minister Srinivas to protect her land, following which the minister responded.
Mounika said that she was suffering from deformity of bones, which led to frequent fractures. This has happened for about 30 times. She said that her father Kodavalla Ganesh works as a tailor and spent huge money for her treatment. She stated that their family purchased land in Nainavaram village for her future. But it has been encroached by others. She appealed to minister Srinivas and CM Jagan to protect her land from encroachers.
Her father Ganesh said that he had purchased the house site at Nainavaram village 15 years ago, but could not construct a house due to penury. He said that he kept the site for future use by his differently-abled daughter. He stated when he recently went to Nainavaram, he was shocked to see a house in his site. He alleged that locals with support of elders of the village had encroached his land and refusing to give back his site.
Ganesh said after uploading of a video clip by his daughter, minister Srinivas called them following which they have submitted a memorandum seeking justice. He said that the minister has directed the district collector to resolve the issue.
