Kapus beat plates in protest
Kakinada: People of the Kapu community in Andhra Pradesh banged empty plates during lunch time on Sunday as part of the agitation call given by Kapu JAC, leader Mudragada Padmanabham.
Many of them participated in the programme in different parts of the state. Mudragada participated in “Police Island’ area in Tadepalligudem in West Godavari District. Mudragada called upon the Kapu community people to participate to fight for reservation under the BC category.
He said that the Kapu community felt that after Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu assumed power their lives would improve as Mr. Naidu promised inclusion of Kapus in the BC list within six months. Kapus voted for Mr. Naidu but the chief has not done anything to fulfill his promise even after two-and-a-half years. He said because of the delay, the Kapus have lost nearly a lakh jobs in the state. He asked all community members to participate in the stir to make their children’s future better. He called for peaceful agitations without creating any law and problems. Former MLA of Tadepalligudem Kottu Satyanarayana, JAC leader Akula Rama-krishna and others participated in the strike.
Meanwhile, Kapu JAC state coordinator V.Y. Das held agitation at Bhanugudi in Kaki-nada. Agitations were held across Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Amalapuram in the district besides Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
