KPCC chief for suo moto case over voter data theft case in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A Congress leaders delegation complained to the Chief
Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Meena on Saturday over voters' data theft case while the former minister and president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) D.K. Shivakumar on Saturday wanted the Chief Justice of Karnataka to file a suo moto case over the alleged voter data theft and voter list tampering case by Chilume, an NGO of Bengaluru.

Shivakumar appealed to the Chief Justice of Karnataka to take-up the cases like the oxygen death cases in the State during the Covid-19 pandemic and stated “I on behalf of people of the State and with folded hands appeal that under your supervision this case has to be taken and investigation has to be done for the truth to come out.

The KPCC Chief also suspected that the NGO accused of voter data theft, might have also been involved in converting “black” money to “White.”

Shivakumar told media persons in Bengaluru that note counting machines
were seized by the police during a raid on the office belonging to Chilume yesterday and questioned “Why was there a note counting machine at the NGO office?”

He said any donation of more than Rs 2,000 to Trust has to be given in a cheque but note counting machines have been seized at the office which leads to suspicion.

Over the police action against those involved in voters data theft case, Shivakumar demanded criminal cases against all guilty and a mere action against a few is not enough.
