YSRC plea to EC to remove 60 lakh bogus' voters from list

YSR Congress accuses previous government of adding 60 lakh bogus voters, seek CEC action

Vijayawada: The YSR Congress has lodged a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Meena against the alleged presence of nearly 60 lakh bogus voter names in Andhra Pradesh electoral rolls.

These names had been included during the earlier Telugu Desam government, the YSRC said and pleaded to CEC for removal of all bogus voters from the list.

Ministers Venugopala Krishna and Dadisetti Raja with former ministers Kurasala Kannababu and Alla Nani with MLA Ponnada Satish submitted the memorandum.

Ministers Venugopala Krishna and Dadisetti Raja said that 60 lakh bogus voters were included during Chandrababu's term as CM. “The same names were registered as voters in two or three places. If these anomalies are not rectified, this will vitiate the election scene,” they said.

Former minister Kurasala Kannababu said BLOs have already identified them as ineligible. But, these names have not been removed. “Names of several dead voters are yet to be removed. Many have been enlisted as voters in both AP and TS, he alleged.

Former minister Alla Nani said the YSRC wanted all fake names to be removed from the voter lists.
