Sekhar Prasad Singh likely to be appointed Chief Secretary of Telangana

There are about six IAS officers of special chief secretary cadre in Telangana.

Hyderabad: Special chief secretary Sekhar Prasad Singh will most likely succeed Mr Rajiv Sharma as Chief Secretary of Telangana. Mr Sharma will retire in November after the completion of a six-month extension. Mr Singh is currently with the panchayat raj and rural development department.

There are about six IAS officers of special chief secretary cadre in Telangana. Among them Mr K. Pradeep Chandra is the senior-most after Mr Sharma. But Mr Chandra will retire in December. Mr Singh is the next in line and he will continue in service till January 2018.

Special chief secretary M.G. Gopal of the municipal administration and urban development department will retire in February next, along with special chief secretary V.K. Agarwal. Special chief secretary Rajiv R. Acharya will retire in October 2018.

The other 1983 batch IAS officer, Mr B.P. Acharya, principal secretary of the planning department, will retire in October 2020, but he has not been promoted to special chief secretary due to the court cases against him.
