Ready for peace if CM Pinarayi Vijayan takes initiative: BJP
Kannur: The leaders of both the warring CPM and BJP have called for peace in the district on Tuesday. BJP state secretary V.K. Sajeevan said that the party would cooperate provided the chief minister takes initiative to bring peace in the region. “We support all efforts to bring back normalcy. The CPM should desist from unleashing attacks against BJP workers. The police have a role in ensuring it. Also, the cops should intervene to contain violence in the sensitive areas,” Mr Sajeevan said.
The CPM district committee too called for peace. “The RSS is creating violence through provocation. Militant training and criminal activities are being done in the garb of Sakha activity. “This should be curbed. The attempt to consolidate political power through violence should not be accepted," the district committee stated in a press release.”
