Kochi: Former PWD minister Ibrahim Kunju says the issue connected with Palarivattom flyover is a matter of technical fault and he is not afraid to face any investigation.
Speaking to reporters in Thiruvanathapuram on Wednesday the former minister declined to respond to the charges leveled by former PWD secretary T.O. Sooraj that the minister was responsible for issuing the order to make an advance payment of Rs 8.25 cr to the contractor entrusted with the flyover work.
“I don’t have to respond to the allegations rai-sed by an official. The file concerned reached me as minister only at the end”, he said.
Mr. Kunju also said it was for the court to take a decision whether he should be included in the list of the accused or not.
The problem in Palari-vattom is a technical mistake and the minister is not an expert in technical matters, Mr. Kunju said. The secretariat manual is clear on this subject, he added. Indian Union Muslim League leader P.K. Kunhalikutty also gave a clean chit to the former minister.
According to him IUML had held a probe into that matter and nothing was found against the minister. The UDF will stand by Mr. Kunju, he added.
