VIJAYAWADA: The Employees Joint Action Committees (JAC) has insisted on having the Old Pension System (OPS). Talks at a meeting held with employees' JAC and the Joint Staff Council at the Secretariat on CPS issue on Thursday remained inconclusive in view of the pressure being applied on the government by the JAC.
Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana and adviser to government (public affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna from the ministerial sub-committee as also senior officials participated in the meeting and held talks with the leaders.
During the meeting, the JAC leaders said they were hopeful that the “Rajasthan policy” would be implemented in Andhra Pradesh and said CM Jagan Reddy should keep up his promise to the employees. They said none of the JAC leaders are against the state government.
The meeting was attended by government representatives along with AP NGO association President Bandi Srinivasa, secretariat association president Venkatrami Reddy, revenue services association president Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, government employees association president KR Suryanarayana, RTC employers union president YV Rao and leaders of teachers and CPS unions.
The JAC leaders said the calculations projected by the government for canceling CPS were wrong. "We will not accept an alternative to OPS. CPS employees have not been given DA arrears for the last 35 months. If OPS is not implemented by September 1, the JAC will lay siege to the CM house.”
