Welfare of farmers tops the list of various Bills approved

VIJAYAWADA: The State Cabinet that met under the leadership of AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy took various decisions here on Thursday. The Cabinet also approved various Bills that will be presented in the state Assembly during the ongoing sessions.

A Bill facilitates tenant farmers to make an agreement for cultivation. The draft Bill that was made to prevent loss to landowners was approved by the Cabinet.

The framework Bill, which is intended not to tamper any land records in future and also to provide permanent rights to the land owners, was also approved by the Cabinet.

The Cabinet also approved a Framework Bill for changes in Land Title Registration System to decrease land disputes. The Cabinet ratified the decision taken by the State Government to provide electricity to aqua farmers at Rs 1.50 per unit

Special officers will be appointed to take care of the administration in local bodies like Mandal Parishads and Zilla Parishads in the state. The Cabinet also decided to allot 149 acres of land to the APIIC at Vikruthamala village, at Yerpedu mandal, in Chittor district to set up an Electronics Goods Manufacturing Park.

The honorarium given to Anganwadi workers has been increased to Rs 11,500, mini Anganwadi workers will receive Rs 7,000 and Anganwadi helpers will get Rs 7,000. This will be effective from July.

The Cabinet approved to appoint one volunteer for every 50 houses and a green signal was given to Panchayat Raj Department to pay Rs 5,000 as honorarium to them
