Lokesh challenges CM Jagan for CBI inquiry into political murders

Lokesh visited Pesaravai village on Friday where two TD party activists were brutally killed by rivals

KURNOOL: Telugu Desam national general secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh on Friday challenged Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to order a CBI inquiry into the double murder of TDP followers at Pesaravai village in Kurnool district. He said the law and order deteriorated in the state in the past two years, and criticised that AP was slowly going the Bihar way in anarchy and lawlessness. He reminded Jagan of the oft-quoted Biblical saying that "those who swear by a sword shall perish by it.”

Calling Jagan ‘Faction Reddy,’ Lokesh decried the implementation of “the Raja Reddy Constitution (the grandfather of Jagan)” for perpetuating the culture of murderous politics in Andhra Pradesh rather than the Ambedkar version of the Constitution.

Lokesh visited Pesaravai village on Friday where two TD party activists were brutally killed by rivals. He consoled the bereaved family members, and then also participated in the last funeral procession of V Nageswara Reddy and his brother Pratap Reddy.

Later, addressing the media, he recalled that so far 1,400 attacks were made against the TD sympathisers and 27 people were killed during Jagan’s two-year rule. He further alleged that the CM could not do justice to his own family members as none of the accused in Vivekananda Reddy’s murder was arrested so far. As such, what assurances he can give for the safety of others, he questioned.

He described the job calendar released by the YCP government as a 'fake calendar.' He asked how the CM could show the RTC employees and the volunteers in the list of job calendar. The 54,000 RTC employees' jobs were not newly created but they came into the job calendar as part of the RTC merger.

The CM's job calendar was full of false figures, duplicate claims and empty promises, he added.

After Jagan became the CM, he assured the people of creating 2.3 lakh jobs but did not create even a few hundreds of regular government jobs for the youth. He promised to release the job calendar every January 1 but the present one came over two years after he came to power.
