Congress, JD(S) MLAs back in Bengaluru, stay put in lodge
Bengaluru: A day after a night-long bus journey to Hyderabad, the Congress and JD(S) legislators will be returning by the morning flight on Saturday to Bengaluru, to participate in voting on the confidence motion to be moved by Chief Minister Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa.
Sources said that the legislators would be lodged in a city hotel, from where they would be taken to Vidhana Soudha in one group for taking oath as legislators and then participate in the trust vote.
On Thursday night, the MLAs were to head to Kochi by a chartered flight from HAL airport. When they reached the airport, their flight was denied permission to operate from the airport.
The efforts to fly to Kochi went on till midnight, when they started making alternative plans.
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister Mr K Chandrashekhar Rao asked them to move towards the border, so that he could make arrangements to pick them up. The legislators, instead of taking the usual Ballari road to Hyderabad, took a deviation at Hindupur where Telangana police personnel were waiting to provide security to them. From there, they were taken to Hyderabad with full security.
JD(S) sources said that making Mr K.G. Bopaiah pro-term Speaker has created suspicion in the MLA' minds. They feel that the BJP is planning to intimidate Congress and BJP legislators and create some mischief. The legislators have been advised not to react till the entire process is completed, sources added.
