BJP eyes social media to spread base in Visakhapatnam

The party held a day-long brainstorming session for the media drawn from all the districts of the state on how to use social media platforms.

Visakhapatnam: The BJP has decided to unleash a publicity blitzkrieg using social media platforms to strengthen its base in Andhra Pradesh.

The party held a day-long brainstorming session for the media drawn from all the districts of the state on how to use social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter to drive the party’s message on various issues to the educated masses.

“It was a fruitful discussion with all the media in- charge of the districts in the state. By June 17 the basic infrastructure for information dissemination using social media should be in place,” said party state affairs in charge Siddarth Nath Singh.

Agreeing that there was a communication gap between BJP and TD, Mr Singh said to bridge it, they have formulated a joint communication strategy with their coalition party TD.

“We will be meeting the Union minister Y.S. Chowdhary in a couple of days on the joint communication strategy so that there will be no misunderstanding or miscommunication between both the parties. Misunderstanding or miscommunication between both the parties is not good for the state.

AP is in a critical state and needs special assistance to build the new AP,” he said, and added that they have also formalised a party internal committee which will coordinate with the concerned Union ministers on the progress of central sponsored projects and schemes. The committee will visit New Delhi at least two days in a month for better coordination.

Mr Singh had also interacted with the ward presidents of the GVMC on the upcoming civic polls and asked them to work for the victory of the party candidates.
