No public spats, KTR warns warring leaders

Hyderabad: Following the directives of party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, party working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao held meetings with warring leaders in Medchal-Malkajgiri, Ranga Reddy and Vikarabad districts and issued a stern warning as a result of the growing internal strife among party leaders coming to the fore in the ongoing party's Atmeeya Sammelanams being held in Assembly constituencies throughout the state.

According to party insiders, with incidents of party leaders sparring in public during the events were causing huge embarrassment to the party, Rama Rao asked that MLAs and party leaders to resolve their differences through talks and work unitedly to help the party win the elections.

He made it clear that the party leadership will no longer tolerate indiscipline and 'public sparring' that harms the party's reputation, while instructing MLAs not to make unilateral decisions and urging them to consult all local leaders before implementing welfare schemes and development programmes.

The party sprung into action after three incidents of internal bickering came to the fore on Sunday. Minister Malla Reddy and Medchal former MLA M. Sudheer Reddy, Tandur MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy and MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy, party's Gajwel constituency incharge Vanteru Prathap Reddy and local leaders were engaged in a heated exchange of words.

Rama Rao on Tuesday held a teleconference with party leaders in all the districts to review the progress of Atmeeya Sammelanams. He asked party leaders to hold Assembly constituency-wise party delegates meeting on April 25 in a grand manner and in a festive atmosphere ahead of the party's plenary in Hyderabad on April 27.

He asked the party's rank and file to hoist BRS flags in all the 19,000 villages and towns on April 25. About 3,000 to 3,500 party delegates including elected representatives from village-level to district-level should attend these meetings in each Assembly constituency, Rama Rao said.
