Vizag people worried, says Chandrababu Naidu

Anantapur: Telugu Desam president Nara Chandrababu Naidu said on Wednesday that the people of Vizag are worried over a possibility of the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government grabbing their land.

Naidu was responding to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s announcement of shifting his administrative base to Vizag. "The people of Vizag are scared even to see Jagan Mohan Reddy’s face," he said.

The TD chief was on a two-day tour of Kadapa district in connection with the party’s zonal-level meeting. He attended the Badvel Assembly constituency-level party meeting in Badvel town.

Naidu said AP witnessed poor development in the four years of YSRC rule. “The TD had initiated the HNSS and GNSS projects during the NTR term and was following this up till four years ago. But Jagan Mohan Reddy did nothing for the pending irrigation projects of Rayalaseema,” he said.

After the meeting, Chandrababu held a road show in the town, during which a tense situation prevailed. SC organisations tried to resist Naidu’s convoy over the recent comments of Nara Lokesh on Ambedkar University. The protestors wearing black badges and carrying black balloons staged the protest shouting slogans, “Naidu should go back.”

They demanded that Naidu should apologise to the SC organisations over such loose comments from his son. Police arrested the activists and cleared the way for the Naidu convoy.
