Leakgate: Congress to hold 'Nirudyoga sabhas'

Hyderabad: The TPCC has decided to host a series of public meetings known as 'Nirudyoga sabhas’ across the state beginning April 21 to aggressively campaign against the TSPSC paper leak case.

Following public meetings at district headquarters in Nalgonda, Khammam and Adilabad on April 21, 24, and 26, respectively, PCC president A. Revanth Reddy stated that the concluding programme will take place on May 5 or 6 at the Saroornagar ground. The keynote address will be delivered by AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Revanth Reddy told mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday that after coming to power in 2014, both the Central and state governments paid lip service to the issue of unemployment. Revanth Reddy noted that more than 22 crore people had applied since 2014 for Central government jobs, but only little more than seven lakhs were recruited.

"This is the betrayal Modi committed after making promises to create two crore jobs annually, which, when added together over these years, equals to 20 crore jobs, before taking office,” he remarked.

Revanth Reddy, recalling Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's vow, inquired as to what had become of his promise of one job per household. He stated that the Congress has campaigned for the unemployed from the public sphere to the parliamentary realm.

Revanth Reddy also slammed the BJP, saying that state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay should take out his unemployment march at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, where the PM's official residence is located in Delhi.

"Bandi Sanjay promising two lakh jobs if the BJP comes to power in the state is nothing short of hypocrisy. Is he even aware of the number of departments, let alone the number of vacancies in the state? The unemployed have been betrayed by both the BJP and KCR. Modi and KCR have completely failed to provide job and employment opportunities to the country's youth," he claimed.

Revanth Reddy stated that the second phase of his ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo yatra’ will begin on May 9 in Jogulamba-Gadwal district and end in Gajwel, the Chief Minister's constituency.
