SM Krishna writes to Yeddyurappa, seeks tickets for 4 supporters

The BJP is likely to finalise its third list by Wednesday evening and the latest by Friday.

Bengaluru: In a surprise move, former CM S.M. Krishna who recently joined the BJP, has written a letter to party state unit president and the BJP's CM candidate, B.S. Yeddyurappa asking for party tickets for four of his followers.

Interestingly, the four constituencies for which Mr Krishna has recommended candidates, have no strong BJP presence. The candidates and the constituencies he has recommended are: Birur Devaraj for Kadur constituency in Chikkamagaluru, M.B. Shivappa for Gandhi Nagar in Bengaluru, D. Made Gowda, former MLC for Chamaraja in Mysuru and sitting ZP member, N. Shivanna for Mandya.

The BJP is likely to finalise its third list by Wednesday evening and the latest by Friday.

Union minister, Ananth Kumar and party general secretary in charge of Karnataka, P. Muralidhar Rao had earlier reportedly met Mr Krishna and held discussions. A week after that, Mr Krishna has sent this letter which gives an impression that the former external affairs minister's supporters may be accepted by the BJP and given tickets.
