Goons vandalise Teenmaar Mallanna\'s office

HYDERABAD: Unidentified persons vandalised the office of Chintapando Naveen (Teenmaar Malanna) in Peerzadiguda, under Medipally station limits, Sunday afternoon.

According to Medipally police, over 22 persons around 12.40 pm barged into Mallana’s news channel Q News office by breaking open the shutter and damaging furniture. Malanna was not in the office.

A live footage collected from the CCTV in the office shows the attackers going on the rampage.

Malanna said that he had received a threatening call from the state labour minister’s men and they had vandalized his office when he was out of station. He rushed to the city on coming to know of the attack and lodged a complaint with Medipally police about a threat from the minister and the attackers were minister Mallareddy’s men.

The attackers, armed with iron rods and sticks, damaged furniture, mirrors, studio, cabins, chairs and expensive cameras, police sources disclosed.

According to a witness Prabhu Das Goud, who works in an adjacent office, over 20 persons came on bikes. They were armed with rods and sticks shouting and warning Mallanna that he would be killed if he did not stop broadcasting news against Mallareddy. Prabhu said that they left within 40 minutes.

Later the staff of Q-News staged a protest before the office demanding arrest of the attackers.

This is the second attack on Malanna’s office after an earlier one on May 9, 2021.

“We have registered a case based on Malanna’s complaint and have recorded statements of eyewitnesses. It's too early to say who was behind the attack. We are going through the CCTV footage,” said inspector Govardhan Giri.
