BJP, Congress ridicule K Chandrasekhar Rao’s statement

Hyderabad: BJP and Telangana Congress leaders ridiculed the statement of TRS President and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao over the formation of a national party. They asked what the CM would do by floating a national party after the Lok Sabha elections.

Telangana BJP President K. Laxman accused the CM of changing his colours often inviting ridicule. “He should explain about how he will develop the country like Telangana,” he added.

Mr Laxman pointed out that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao demanded that all powers be given to states. Then what would be do in Delhi, he asked. He also pointed out that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had not come to the secretariat for six years and was confined to Pragathi Bhavan.

He said that the CM stood first in running up a debt to the tune of Rs 2 lakh crore and in encouraging defections.

Meanwhile, TPCC Working President A. Revanth Reddy questioned of what use would it be if the CM formed a national party after the Lok Sabha elections. His colleague, MLC Shabbier Ali wanted to know that if Mr Chandrasekhar Rao was forming a national party what had become of the Federal front. “He is misleading the people with his statements,” he said.
