K Chandrasekhar Rao set to discuss 3rd front with Mamata Banerjee

He is also expected to discuss his attempts to forge an alternative front of non-Congress, non-BJP parties at national level.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will take a call on whether to support the no-confidence motion to be moved by the Telugu Desam and YSR Congress against the NDA government in the Lok Sabha, after meeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday.

Sources in the Chief Minister’s office say the meeting is scheduled for 5 pm on Monday. He will return to Hyderabad by 7 pm on Monday.

He is also expected to discuss his attempts to forge an alternative front of non-Congress, non-BJP parties at national level.

Ms Banerjee had been quick to respond positively to Mr Rao’s call for a third front on March 3, and hence this visit.

Mr Rao had also ann-ounced his intention of visiting Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and other big cities to seek feedback and support of retired All India Service Offi-cers and defence/army officers, national level associations of farmers and employees, experts on centre-state relations, and constitutional and legal experts.

Mr Rao plans to frame an agenda for his Front with prime focus on empowering states by transferring powers fr-om the Centre to States, except for national security, defence, banking, currency etc.
