Chennai: BJP state president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has alleged that faction-dominated ruling AIADMK and opposition DMK, dreaming of capturing power by capitalising on a “weakened” AIADMK, will be rejected by people in R K Nagar bypoll. “We had high hopes DMK. From being an opposition party it has reduced to the stature of a party that stages walk-outs,’” Dr Tamilisai claimed and added that there was no better candidate than renowned music composer Gangai Amaran.
“The BJP is the only party that has concern for people. We don’t have any representation in the TN Assembly now. If you elect Gangai Amaran the BJP will raise the people’s issues in the Assembly and play truly a constructive role,” she said. Earlier, introducing her party nominee Gangai Amaran she said the popular Tamil music composer had obtained the BJP membership card directly from Amit Shah.
Describing him as “victory candidate” she said Amaran had been quite active in politics too and had been attending several rallies. “He was always present with us whenever the party organised public meetings,” she said.
