20 BJP MLAs will join Congress soon, says Dr G Parameshwar

He claimed that over the next six months, 20 BJP MLAs would join the Congress to change the dynamics of politics in Karnataka.

Mysuru: KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar on Saturday officially announced the names of Kalale Keshavmurthy (Nanjangud) and Geetha Mahadevprasad (Gundlupet) as the party’s candidates for next month’s bypolls to fill two vacancies in the Legislative Assembly.

Addressing party meetings at Nanjangud and Gundlupet, he said both the candidates would hand in their nomination papers on Monday.

“Tomorrow, a meeting involving the CM, ministers and several senior leaders has been convened to discuss the strategy to win the bypolls. People will vote for our candidates on the basis of achievements of our party. We are confident of winning the bypolls,” he added.

He claimed that over the next six months, 20 BJP MLAs would join the Congress to change the dynamics of politics in Karnataka. Dr Parameshwar, who holds the home portfolio, charged that the Centre was targeting state ministers through IT raids.

Reacting to allegations of Energy Minister D K Shivakumar that his cellphone was tapped, he told media persons: “If the central government has tapped the mobile, we will not have information. But none of the departments in our state has done it.”

Meanwhile, in a significant development, members of Bhovi community have adopted a resolution to support Congress candidate in Nanjangud Assembly constituency.
