THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan held an hour long meeting with CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan at the party state headquarters AKG Centre in the wake of the brutal murder of two youth Congress activists in Kasargod.

The Chief Minister is understood to have expressed his deep displeasure over the manner in which the murders took place in Kasargod. He told the party state secretary to take all possible steps to rein in such unruly and violent cadres.

Pinarayi is upset over the brutal murders as the incident could adversely affect the LDF Government which is set to celebrate its third anniversary. The CPM believes that the opponents could use the incident to mount a campaign against the LDF.
