BJP plans stir against Jarkiholi
Belagavi: Several senior BJP leaders led by their state unit chief B.S. Yeddyurappa will stage a dharna in Belagavi on Monday seeking the resignation of Small Scale Industries Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi whose properties have been raided by I-T officials.
Revealing this here on Saturday, former minister Umesh Katti said the minister should resign if he had any self-respect as the raids had unearthed assets worth Rs 150 crore. “It is unfortunate that CM Siddaramaiah has not asked Jarkiholi to resign. The BJP will intensify its agitation for his removal,” he added.
Declaring that the BJP would also demand the resignation of CM Siddaramaiah during the dharna, he said the Chief Minister should issue a clarification on whether he had paid Rs 1,000 crore to the Congress high command to save his position. “When a former Chief Minister like Yeddyurappa levels a charge that he paid the Congress high command, the CM should also resign. Instead, he has taken his claim lightly and issued irresponsible statements on the issue,” he said.
