Bengaluru: The president of Bengaluru unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Mohan Dasari on Thursday alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA S. Raghu of stocking up pressure cookers which are meant to be distributed among voters of his C.V. Raman constituency in a bid to woo voters. The stocking of pressure cookers in large numbers amounted to violations of IT Taxes Act. Raghu is the MLA representing C.V. Raman in Bengaluru.
Displaying a pressure cooker at a press conference here claiming it belonged to BJP MLA S. Raghu, Dasari recalled a similar incident in Kunigal taluk of Tumakuru where official concerned of Income Tax department conducted raid and questioned “Why are IT officials silent in Raghu case?”
Continuing on the stocking up of pressure cookers by the BJP MLA, Dasari asked “How did Raghu get some much money to purchase pressure cookers in large numbers? And alleged “Is it from the 40 per cent commission he allegedly received through awarding government works?.”
In another posed by Dasari was “Is it possible for an MLA to purchase pressure cookers from his salary?”
Dasari alleged that BJP MLA has decided to win the forthcoming Assembly poll from C.V. Raman seat “by hook or crook.” “Had Raghu made use of the power given by the voters for the development of the constituency he would not have indulged in such a crooked way to woo voters," Dasari felt.
Criticising BJP, the AAP leader alleged that BJP came to power by giving false assurances to the voters, poaching of MLAs, communal tension among others and wanted voters to elect a State Government led by AAP for pro-people government.
