Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee meets today, to review rally
Thiruvananthapuram: All the 14 DCC presidents will report on the family meetings at Monday's meeting of KPCC office bearers, high-power Political Affairs Committee, former KPCC presidents, parliamentary party office bearers, spokespersons and feeder outfits. The meet is being held after a long time and will also evaluate the success of Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala’s roadshow, Padayorukkam, concluded here with the well-attended rally Congress president Rahul Gandhi addressed Thursday. In fact, the KPCC leadership had not met after the so-called solar scam judicial commission findings made public.
KPCC president M. M. Hassan told DC that 90 percent of the family meetings had been over. Although UDF meeting had evaluated the success of Padayorukkam, KPCC leadership will also assess the impact of the rally. However, the meeting is improbable to discuss the aftermath of the solar scam judicial commission’s findings as the PAC had already decided to take up the issue both politically and legally. Another senior Congress leader told DC that there is no point in discussing it when the LDF Government is yet to file a case. UDF convenor P. P. Thankachan said the UDF delegation has decided to postpone their visit to Kurinji sanctuary on Tuesday owing to PM Narendra Modi’s visit.
