No Trust motions against K Chandrasekhar Rao, Speaker: Congress and TD MLA's
Hyderabad: Congress and Telugu Desam MLAs on Saturday said that they would move no-confidence motions against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and state Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary.
Speaking to the media after the suspensions from the House, Congress MLA D.K. Aruna accused Legislative Affairs minister T. Harish Rao of trying to run the House as per his whims. She said that her party will continue to press for adjournment motions on public issues inside and outside the Assembly. Ms Aruna said that if necessary, the Congress will move a no confidence motion against the Chief Minister.
Elsewhere, TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy alleged that they were suspended from the House for questioning the purchase of Opposition MLAs by the ruling party ‘like cattle’. He said that the government feared that the Opposition will raise uncomfortable questions when some key Bills come up for discussion, hence the suspension from the House.
Pointing out that the MLAs were suspended even when they were not in the podium, Mr Reddy alleged that the Speaker was not protecting their rights but was protecting the government. “If necessary, we will move no confidence motion against the Speaker,” he said.
