Vijayawada: The Communist Party of India’s 24th edition of Congress resolved to fight against the RSS-led BJP government and its anti-people’s policies and to make efforts to unite all secular, democratic and like-minded parties in the country.
CPI MP Binoy Viswam and its national secretary K. Narayana told the media here on Monday that they intended to strengthen the party and make their party’s presence felt in other states. Explaining about a series of resolutions they had passed in the national conclave, they underlined the need for changing the political scenario in the country to form a strong alternative government to the BJP-led NDA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They alleged that PM Modi was being controlled by the RSS and it was no longer good for the country to prosper in all aspects.
The CPI MP said their party’s 24th Congress discussed the ensuing CPI centenary year celebrations and set a target to raise the membership in the party to 10 lakh and added that they had also resolved to strengthen the party from the grass-root level.
With regard to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, the MP turned critical on the Centre’s move for its cent per cent strategic sale and said that their political resolution was to mount pressure upon the Centre to withdraw its decision.
CPI national secretary K. Narayana slammed the state government for trying to suppress the people’s stir with the police force and condemned the police action as they stopped the minorities to take out rally to extend their support to the ongoing padayatra by the farmers for Amaravati at Bhimadole in West Godavari.
