BJP says no to election freebies
Hyderabad: BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy on Wednesday said the BJP would not indulge in falsehoods nor offer free gifts to attract voters. “Our party will not serve fish curry. We will teach our supporters to learn fishing,” he said. That is why Prime Minister Narender Modi is investing a lot on skilling the country to make the people self-sufficient, Mr Kishan Reddy said.
The BJP leader said the Congress and the TRS were playing games of oneupmanship to catch the attention of the voters, which was fraught with danger. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had promised to supply drinking water to every doorstep before December, failing which he will not seek their votes.
“As it was not happening, Mr Rao advanced the elections,” Mr Kishan Reddy told mediapesrons.
He challenged Mr Rao to declare how many people had died in the state in the past four and a half years due to consuming liquor.
He said several TRS MLAs were questioned by villagers over unfulfilled promises. The mistakes in the land records and non-payment of Rythu Bandhu support would backfire on the government.
Mr Kishan Reddy questioned the rationale of the TRS in releasing a partial manifesto when the assurances given in the Assembly were not being fulfilled. The non-implementation of pay revision of employees would also boomerang on the government, he said.
