KCR Talibanising Telangana: Dasoju

After betraying and humiliating Dalits for the past seven years, now Chandrashekar Rao is enacting a new drama in the name of Dalit Bandhu

HYDERABAD: Accusing Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for Talibanisation of Telangana, AICC spokesperson Dr Dasoju Sravan said just like the Taliban wreaked havoc in Afghanistan, Rao and his men were trying to destroy Telangana.

"After betraying and humiliating Dalits for the past seven years, now Chandrashekar Rao has been enacting a new drama in the name of Dalit Bandhu to attract SCs. If Rao is so committed towards the SCs, why did the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leaders attack Dalit research scholar Palvai Nagesh in Tungaturthi constituency on the same day of Dalit Bandhu's announcement? Even the police have joined with TRS goons in attacking the Dalit student who questioned TRS government,” he said.

Speaking to reporters here at the Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Sravan questioned how chief secretary Somesh Kumar attended the Huzurabad meeting. “Was it a public meeting or a political meeting? If it was a political meeting, how did Somesh Kumar attend it? If it was a public meeting, in what capacity were Padi Kaushik Reddy and TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav given seats on the dais along with the Chief Minister and ministers?" he said, adding that Rao had been destroying all institutions and democratic practices in Telangana.

"I will give an example of how Rao cheated Most Backward Castes (MBCs) in Telangana. He set up MBC Corporation and promised to provide Rs 100 Crore every year and disburse loans through it. But not even one loan was disbursed in the past two years. The treatment meted out to the MBCs is extremely painful. While about Rs 2,400 crore was allocated, a paltry sum of Rs 7 crore was disbursed. While more than 13,000 MBCs applied, just 1,400 beneficiaries were given loans. Such is the commitment of Chandrashekar Rao towards MBCs. Even Dalit Bandhu scheme will see the same fate, once Huzurabad bypoll I over," pointed out Dr Sravan.
