HYDERABAD: BJP national vice president and former minister D. K. Aruna slammed Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao over not attending the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) meeting to fight for the state’s share of Krishna Basin water.

Addressing a press conference at the party office on Tuesday, BJP senior leader accusing that Chandrashekar Rao colluded with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for commissions and was neglecting south Telangana where the districts were losing 250 tmc ft water from Krishna Basin.

She said the AP government continued the projects without objections and spent Rs 6000 crore for completing projects even though the projects were illegal.  Aruna reminded that the KRMB had suggested setting up of telemetry but the Chandrashekar Rao took it lightly and did injustice to the erstwhile Mahbubnagar, Rangareddy and Nalgonda due to the illegal projects in AP.

She demanded that the Chief Minister construct a lift irrigation project at Jurala to lift 5 tmc ft every day for south Telangana people and urged him to attend the KRMB meeting on August 27. She also dubbed the Dalit Bandhu scheme as ‘election stunt’ and asked why he did not deliver the scheme earlier.

On the occasion, the party national vice president, along with Telangana Legislative Council former chairman Swamy Goud, released BJP president Bandi Sanjay’s padayatra posters at the party office.
