Kishan Reddy's claims baseless falsehoods: Harish Rao
HYDERABAD: Within hours of Union minister G. Kishan Reddy’s nearly three-hour presentation on the Centre’s contribution towards the development of Telangana, state finance minister T. Harish Rao said the state government would provide a detailed presentation, backed by concrete evidence, to “expose the web of lies woven by Kishan Reddy.”
“His den of deceit will be fully exposed,” Harish Rao said in a statement, claiming that Kishan Reddy’s presentation suffered from a lack of focus and sought to spread confusion. Calling the presentation as one “filled with baseless claims and falsehoods,” Harish Rao said, “the Union Minister displayed his frustration by resorting to blatant lies. His repetitive use of unfounded statements, previously propagated by Amit Shah, only highlights his desperation.”
Harish Rao said it was “imperative to compare the support and resources provided to Telangana with those allocated to other states, such as Gujarat. Only by presenting a comprehensive picture can we truly evaluate the fairness and equity of the central government's actions.”
He said that among Kishan Reddy’s claims was one relating to personal loans issued by banks. “The Central should be ashamed of taking credit for loans extended by banks to individuals,” he said.
Harish Rao said false claims were made that access to tap water in the state was made possible with the Centre contributing Rs 1,588.08 crore through Mission Bhagiratha. “The reality is this amount is insufficient even for maintaining Mission Bhagiratha. Can Kishan Reddy provide any evidence to support his misleading statements,” Harish Rao asked.
He said, “repeated requests and letters have been submitted to the Centre regarding pending dues owed to the state, but there has been no satisfactory response from Kishan Reddy. It seems futile to expect any action from him.”
