YSRC sees TD plot behind Narsapuram MP's outbursts

Party leaders say Raghu Ramakrishna Raju is just a pawn in the hands of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu

Vijayawada: Alleging political conspiracy by Telugu Desam (TD) supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu to destabilise the state government with regard to Narasapur MP K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju’s case, YSR Congress (YSRC) MPs demanded a probe to bring the culprits behind it to book.

YSRCP floor leader in the Assembly Peddireddy Mithun Reddy, MPs Vallabhaneni Balasouri and Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu said Naidu was using the Narsapuram MP as a pawn in his plot against the government.

Addressing the media here on Monday, Balasouri said Raju switched loyalty from one party to the other for five times even before getting elected as an MP, adding that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had honoured him by appointing as chairman of a Parliamentary committee and also chairman of subordinate legislation committee despite being a first-time MP.

He slammed the MP for imitating the way the Chief Minister would speak and for using abusive language against him and party MPs. He said even the senior IAS and IPS officers were not spared by him.

The MP pointed out that though they were keeping quiet, tolerating all such criticism, Raju started to stir up hatred on caste and communal lines among the people. He asked whether Naidu and Jana Sena leaders would tolerate in case their own party leaders criticised them in such a manner. He turned critical on Naidu for writing letters to President Ram Nath Kovind and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Narsapuram MP’s issue while keeping quiet during the arrest of TD AP chief K. Atchannaidu and party leader Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar on issues related to ESI and Sangam Dairy irregularities respectively.

Coming down heavily on the TD chief for showing sympathy to Raju, he asked why the opposition leaders had failed to counsel him when he was crossing all limits of decency in criticising others.

Speaking on the occasion, Peddireddy Mithun Reddy flayed Naidu for getting nervous over the arrest of the Narsapuram MP and said he was worried that he might be exposed if an inquiry was taken up.

Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu castigated the opposition leaders for questioning the state government for not taking the Narsapuram MP to Ramesh Hospitals in Guntur and advised them to go through orders from the High Court and the CID special court which asked them to take the MP to government hospital for medical examination.
