Elaborate preparations for counting of votes in Kerala
KOCHI: A day ahead of counting, the Election Commission authorities assisted by district administration officials are making arrangements for smooth counting and early declaration of results in 14 constituencies in Ernakulam district on Thursday. The counting station in Kothamangalam constituency has already been readied at MA College. In other constituencies, the counting centres were being readied on Tuesday night.
The polling materials reached the counting centres by midnight on Monday. The materials that are being kept in the strong room include the ballot unit of the electronic voting machine, its control unit, the paper containing details about votes polled and VVPAT machines.
The counting centres in Kochi city are Maharaja’s College, Girls Higher Secondary School and SRV High School. The other counting centres are Perumbavoor GHSS for Perumbavoor constituency, UC College for Angamaly and Aluva, Sree Narayana HS Pullukulam for Kalamassery and Paravur, Vypeen and Kochi – Mattancherry Town Hall, Tripunithura – Maharajas College, Ernakulam- SRVHS, Thrikkakara – Govt Girls UP Ernakulam, Kunnathunadu – Asramam HSS Perumbavoor, Piravom-Nirmala Junior School, Muvattupuzha, Muvattupuzha-Nirmala HS Muvattupuzha and Kothamangalam-MA College.
The results will be available live through the PRD mobile app prdlive that can be downloaded on Android phones.
