Vijayendra releases short film on Varuna's infra woes

There is no bus stop though the road has been improved, the villagers claimed in the video.

Mysuru: The battle for Varuna, the former seat of CM Siddaramaiah is no doubt hotting up. While Mr Siddaramaiah campaigned for his son Dr Yatindra in Varuna on Tuesday, his likely rival and son of former CM B.S. Yeddyurappa, Mr B.Y. Vijayendra campaigned in 11 other villages in the constituency.

Mr Vijayendra even released a short film on the status of basic infrastructure facilities in Varuna village and posted the video in his Facebook page and twitter account with the status message, “If he cannot take care of his own constituency well, as CM what would he do for the entire state”.

In the video, a few people of Varuna village have alleged that water for irrigation has not been released in the past two years. Drinking water supply has been stopped since three months while farmers have not been given paddy at Raitha Samparka Kendras. The drain constructed a month ago has stagnant water in it which is leading to mosquito breeding. “The school buildings have cracked and we are worried about sending our kids there. The toilets at the school are being linked to the pond in the village. There is no bus stop though the road has been improved,” the villagers claimed in the video.
