Hyderabad: In a bid to motivate young voters in his constituency, MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, “A vote is your strength and a vote is your way of showing likes and dislikes for the candidate and the government.” Owaisi was addressing a meeting at the Town Hall.
Mr Owaisi said, “It is important for the people to participate in democracy and ensure that they vote to make the candidates accountable. People from good families also must come out and vote as the reduction in the percentage of urban voters is an alarming trend. There is a need to introspect and understand why the urban populace stays away from voting.”
Urging people to come out and vote, Mr Owaisi who is contesting from the Hyderabad Parliamentary constituency stated that he was going to work towards building the new Osmania General Hospital, infrastructure for the Old City and also keep the area flood free. The need for improving the drinking water facilities is also a priority stated Mr Owaisi. There has to be more road widening works taken up in his parliamentary constituency, Mr Owaisi said.
He said, “Hyderabad will always be Hyderabad and I cannot make it Singapore, Tokyo or Istanbul. My contribution will be to develop it and provide the required amenities.”
