KCR to discuss no-trust move too with Mamata Banerjee

After the discussion with Mamata Banerjee, the Telangana CM may take a final decision on the No-Confidence Motion issue.

Hyderabad: Changing political equations at the Centre, with the No-Confidence motion moved by the Telugu Desam (TD) and YSRC against the BJP-led NDA government, has forced Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to advance his efforts for Third Front.

After the discussion with Mamata Banerjee, the Telangana CM may take a final decision on the No-Confidence Motion issue.

Recently, Mr Rao had announced his plans on forming the Third Front and decided officially to announce this on the TRS Formation Day in April. But in the changed political scenario, Mr Rao has advanced his efforts for the Third Front.

After being backed by the Congress on the No-Confidence motion moved by the YSRC and the TD, all the recognised political parties are divided between the BJP and the Congress. TRS has remained as a neutral party on the No Confidence motion.

Ms Banerjee, who also floated the Third Front idea, wants the Front to be under the Congress which is a national party, to unite all anti-BJP forces. But Mr Rao wants ‘qualitative change’ in national politics. His idea is that the Third Front should be anti-BJP and anti-Congress.

Mr Rao is likely to discuss this issue with Ms Banerjee. In a recent press conference, Mr Rao said that there is need for qualitative change in national politics. “There is a serious need. People are in a vexed situation now. No qualitative change is seen by people even after 70 years of democracy,” Mr Rao said.

Sources close to Mr Rao said that after holding discussions with Ms Banerjee, both will come to an understanding on the formation of the Third Front.
