MK Stalin condemns throwing of slippers at Pon Radhakrishnan

G. Ramakrishnan too condemned the incident, saying that there could be attacks on views, but not on the person who expressed those views.

Chennai: Leader of Opposition M.K. Stalin on Friday condemned the throwing of slippers at Union minister of state Pon. Radhakrishnan at Salem and said no one in the civil society could accept such a behavior.

Stalin recalled that everyone cutting across party lines had expressed concern over the death of Dalit student Muthukrishnan and he himself had requested the Centre to find the culprits behind the death. When the entire student community is in sorrow, some anti-social elements had staged this uncivilized act which is not acceptable to the culture of Tamils.

“Despite the presence of a large number of policemen, how did they allow it?” he asked. He also demanded severe action on those responsible for the act and police should prevent such incidents in future.

CPM state secretary G. Ramakrishnan too condemned the incident, saying that there could be attacks on views, but not on the person who expressed those views.
