THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM central committee member E.P. Jayarajan on Friday launched a frontal attack on CPI though indirectly, alleging that the Law Academy Agitation was used by a section of people to declare war against the government. In a Facebook post, Jayarajan said the attempt made by these forces to portray the joint agitation with right wing as the face of Left exposed their political decadence.
Those who shared power with Indira Gandhi by singing praises to her fascist tendencies had raised similar arguments during those days. "It is no secret as to who granted the land to Kerala Law Academy. Instead of apologising for their opportunist actions, they were trying to weaken the Left," he pointed out.
He said those jealous of the growing influence of SFI and DYFI were unleashing false campaigns to vitiate the political environment in the state. He said those from the LDF camp who were joining hands with anti-left forces should stop these activities forthwith. “If they continue to weaken the left forces and strengthen the right wing then those who are with them at the moment might leave their camp as well,” he reminded.
